I find old portrait photographs visually appealing because I like trying to guess the story of the person based on their expression and presentation. I also like when the colors are really contrasted and simple. My perspective in mostly influenced by nature. I get inspired and like taking photos of light coming through trees or the light reflecting off the ocean. The image that sticks out in my mind is one of the ocean with the horizon line in the lower third of the photo and a rocky ridge surrounding the bay. The reflecting light looks like diamonds bouncing around on the surface and the sky is a beautiful blue with a lot of sunlight. This is memorable to me because it reminds my of my vacation to hawaii with my sister and how amazing it was. I hope that in this course I learn how to use a camera properly and understand the uses of all its functions.
This photo sticks out to me because I really like the color combination they used and how the water looks like a solid surface that you could walk on.
